My work has always been motivated by nature from the microscopic to to panoramic.

However, a friend of mine asked me recently what inspires me.

Inspiration is not a myth, it involves hardwork, and total commitment to one’s vision rather than public opinion.

Most of these new works are inspired by our recent trip to an extraordinary place called The Richtesveld.

In this desert landscape everything presents itself essentially, nothing is wasted, it’s inevitability is simple and stark.

The desert paintings capture the silent moments, which are comforting in their inevitability, but at

The same time frightening in it’s remoteness, solitude and silence.

I am further intrigued by how this landscape holds within it elements that bear witness to the historical

And forever changing ecological evolution.

Other works are also displayed in London, Washington UCT  and  the New Knowledge Library.
